    The Opportunity
    Reporting to the Manager of Canada Gas Control, the Control Room Management Lead will be primarily responsible for overseeing the Control Room Management plan for Canada Gas Control.

    What you'll do

  • Own and contribute to Canada Gas Control initiatives including Alarm Management, Fatigue Management, Workload Studies and others.
  • Responsible for leading the annual development, implementation, training and tracking of the Alarm Management plan
  • Analyze alarm data, identify trends and make recommendations to provide continuous improvement and maintenance of the Alarm Management program
  • Develop, lead and communicate goals and objectives of the Alarm Management team to key stakeholders across Canada Gas and establish priorities
  • Collaborate with other areas of TransCanada as well as with connecting operators and customers, both internal and external
  • Provide consistent Alarm Management input into operational projects, ensure consistent communication of management of change to the Controllers
  • Create and foster an environment which actively enables and encourages employee innovation, continuous improvement and commitment to operational excellence
  • Industry committee Representative for control room management
  • On Call requirement for Canada Gas Control.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary technical program
  • Minimum of 6 years related experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with pipeline regulations (i.e. API 1167, CSA Z662-15, NEB/OPR 99/294)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as demonstrated through interactions with peers, employees as well as internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated written communication and technical writing skills
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Advise on technical problems and review work for technical accuracy
  • Proven organizational/time management skills
  • Adaptable and able to work through ambiguity and lead change.
  • Related gas pipelines and/or remote pipeline operations experience
  • Related logic of PLC's, automation and controls system experience
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
  • Understanding of ISO based Quality Management systems.
