Prepare Operations and Maintenance (O&M) manuals for company products and prepare/present technical training courses. Provide technical support to Customer Service when required.

As a Project Lead, oversee multiple projects, the O&M training team cost and schedule, and daily interfaces to Project Manager/Engineering/Customer.

Coach and supervise Technical Writers/Trainers, delegate and coordinate tasks, monitor and report on progress of activities; participate in planning, scheduling, prioritizing activities, preparing cost estimates and budgets.

Chair group meetings to identify progress/issues/actions and approve ECNs/CRs for group members.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that manuals describe safe practices for performing Preventive and Corrective maintenance procedures that may not necessarily be listed in the Hazard Log.
  • Prepare, review, update and signoff Work Package Agreement (WPA) for Projects.
  • Provide Bottoms-Up Estimate (BUE) analysis / Estimate to Complete (ETC) review / Request for Quotation (RFQ) estimates to the Project team.
  • Attend Risk Review Meetings, update Month End Schedules and participate in key Design Review meetings with the Customer.
  • Support Bids and Proposals group inputs.
  • Evaluate and report on project Estimates to Complete (ETC) to provide clarity on cost exposures and future labor needs.
  • Perform Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
  • Work collaboratively with other training contributors to ensure content completeness and consistency.
  • Manage the pertinent work processes to ensure ontime delivery with rigorous emphasis placed on continuousimprovement in productivity, costeffectiveness, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide support to assigned projects in all aspects of training and documentation. This includes defining resource requirements and outlining budgets as they relate to course and manual development.
  • Track assigned projects and provide/update regular reports on project status to Training Manager and key stakeholders.
  • For projects with outsourced deliverables: Be single point of contact with vendor staff, coach and direct vendor staff, review outputs and review progress reports/estimates.
  • Supervise, coach, motivate and develop the skills of the Training and Technical Writing staff, paying particular attention to the importance of safety.
  • Interact with customers, trainers and other stakeholders to achieve customer satisfaction. Outline acceptance criteria against requirements. Review and improve training content periodically.
  • Ensure Standards, procedures/practices and controls are followed.
  • Conduct the weekly meetings with the Operations/Maintenance team, review work activity, questions and deliverables, escalate issues with shortage of work, blocking issues preventing completion of work excessive workload for the team members to the Training Manager.
  • Review all CRs for the Operations/Maintenance team and ensure they are all analyzed and progressed according to deadlines.
  • Provide input and evaluations to the Manager on employee's performance.
  • Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned.

Key Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in preparing technical documentation and delivering technical training.
  • Technical training experience with complex systems and solutions.
  • Proven didactic skills, knowledge and teaching methods.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret hardware/software/system specifications and documentation.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Superior Customer service and presentation skills.
  • Ability to ascertain the skills and competency of staff assigned.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and highly detailed oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electronics/Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Adult Learning Principles and Project Management would be an asset.
  • Project management experience and/or delivery complex bids and proposals.
