    Term of App't: Seasonal Part Time (Monday - Friday, 17.5 hours per week)

    Start date: Immediately

    Salary:



    Classification 8, $ per hour, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Vacation is prorated and front loaded (approximately 49.75 hours per annum) which are intended to be utilized during the summer months. We offer competitive extended health and dental benefits (eligible after 6 months of employment). The Support Collective Agreement includes time off for family illness, personal illness, and other special leaves. The closure between Christmas and New Year's Day (Dec 25 - Jan 1) is paid time off. This position is a seasonal ongoing appointment, with a layoff occurring each year at the end of June and recall in late August.


    Staff at this location receive an additional $1.50 per hour for isolation allowance.

    Description:

    As a member of our Campus Services team, the Campus Clerk will assist with both external and internal inquiries (student, staff, and public) in person, by telephone, or by correspondence for programs that are available college wide. You would be expected to handle routine public relations functions by exchanging general information on policies and procedures; maintain course interest lists for all program areas and follow-up with students by phone and mail. This role has a responsibility for cash outs and bank deposits at the end of the business day, therefore attention to detail and accuracy is essential. This position requires that you have excellent organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions.


    You can expect that other duties in your day would include performing all registration procedures for students and other prospective college clients, as well as keeping the computerized student records on "Colleague" current.     Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 diploma and completion of an office administration course with an additional two years of related work experience preferred (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
    • Experience and proficiency with a current version of MS Office, validation of cash and balance of accounts is required.
    • Experience with student records registration system is an asset.

    The successful candidate must successfully complete a comprehensive clerical test.
