Axiom Machinery Inc. and its sister company Beta Die Casting Equipment are machine manufacturers and machinery resellers located in Cambridge, Ontario. We sell products locally, nationally, and internationally. Much of what we build is custom-made. We build hydraulic presses, temperature control units, melting furnaces, and much more.

Our workforce is comprised of various skilled trades working together in a safe and quality-oriented environment to produce machines and equipment for various industrial sectors.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We require an exceptionally talented, skilled, and organized individual to work in conjunction with our Technical team to source, order, and maintain an inventory of various parts and components required for production.
In addition, the position will require working with the Sales Department to access and identify various service replacement parts for existing customers.
A strong technical background in electrical or mechanical principles will be beneficial. The purchasing agent will also be directly involved with the IT group as the company ERP system is implemented. Inventory will include electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic parts plus various steel frame assemblies and sub-assemblies.ABOUT YOU:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Work with project managers to determine purchasing requirements for all manufacturing projects.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor them with vendors to maintain ontime delivery
- Components and materials include electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical items
- Order components for assembly, with care taken to meet production deadlines and avoid material shortages
- Receive all shipments and ensure all purchase orders are properly received and quantities are accurate
- Establish and maintain a critical component inventory to prevent unnecessary shortages.
- Work closely with production personnel to ensure they have what they need to complete all projects
- Work with current suppliers and subcontractors while sourcing and cultivating relationships with new ones
- Search and establish new suppliers which offer more competitive prices
- Be the champion of inventory control and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 2+ years of Purchasing and/or Inventory Management experience
- Previous experience needed in machinery building, repair and/or assembly.
- Very analytical and proficient in database management and ERP systems such as Odoo.
- Excellent communication skills (both in oral and written)
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and related business software.
- Proficient and comfortable in negotiating prices
- High attention to detail
- Superior planning and organization skills
- Works very well in a team environment
Salary:
$24.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
