TNT Hay and Cattle Sales is a agriculture based business focusing on supplying dairy farmers with all their hay and cattle needs.

As well as, supply horse owners with quality hay.

We are based in the Fraser Valley with out office located on farm in Abbotsford close to Yarrow.


Job description
Role

We are a growing farm looking for an experienced full-time bookkeeper to join our team in Yarrow, BC.

Duties vary widely day to day, but core responsibilities will be:


  • Managing accounts receivable (including invoicing and collection)
  • Paying of vendor invoices and reviewing invoices for accuracy
  • Maintaining bank reconciliations and monitoring cash balance
  • Month end journal entries
  • Reconciling various GL accounts monthly
  • Filing of GST / PST returns and WCB remittances
  • Processing payroll for 510 employees
  • Working with external accountants to manage year end reporting requirements
  • Responding to various customer/vendor inquiries
  • Other office admin tasks as required

Required Skills:


  • Previous experience with Simply Accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Proven ability to problem solve and take on challenging new tasks with a good attitude
  • Since this is an owner managed business, the successful applicant needs to be trustworthy and able to work independently without direct supervision
  • Detail oriented with an analytical mind
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience with payroll taxes, completing ROEs, WCB filing, and GST/PST
  • Ability to produce / review financial reports and communicate results to a nonfinance audience
  • Previous experience maintaining books for a farm would be considered an asset
Education and Experience

  • 2+ years' experience in accounting/bookkeeping
  • 2+ years' experience in an office admin setting
  • Postsecondary education in a bookkeeping or business administration program
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications

Please note working hours are very flexible and can be discussed based on availability.
