Description

Purpose of Position:


Under supervision of Plant Manager, will process gas mixture orders in a safe and efficient manner meeting promised customer lead times.

Must be able to work efficiently in a team environment with minimum supervision and must maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and customers.


Principal Responsibilities:


  • Handling of cylinders using supplied handling equipment where necessary
  • Blending and transferring gas mixtures
  • Proficient ability to use mathematical procedures
  • Assist in plant maintenance programs and Perform maintenance of all jobrelated equipment
  • Record and submit raw materials consumed
  • Enter work order confirmations into company software program
  • Move cylinders to and from area as required Use of appropriate statistical techniques to ensure accuracy of results
  • Completion of all jobrelated documentation including recording of accurate scale weights, filling parameters, and orders confirmation into SAP
  • ICC cylinder tagging and fill scanning as required
  • Ensure cylinders compliance with CGA and CSA regulations
  • Report to management any abnormalities or hazardous conditions
  • Fill daily parameter checklists and data logs
  • Complete production order ontime and avoid any delays that may discomfort customer or hurt the business
  • Follow 5S practices at their workstations and ensure high standards of safety and quality
  • Complete cylinders prefill inspection and ensure safe filling practice
  • Move cylinder cages or multicylinder packs (MCPs) using pallet jacks or forklifts
  • Other duties as assigned / needed
  • High degree of safety consciousness
  • Familiarity with cylinder handling is considered as an asset
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Technologist diploma, or equivalent postsecondary education preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude, including ability to comprehend technical manuals and procedures
  • Proficient in the use of a calculator and mathematical procedures
  • Awareness of CGA and CSA standards
  • Ability to work independently
  • Capacity to effectively plan work and handle changing priorities
  • Willingness to learn
  • SAP experience is an asset, but is not mandatory
