As a Transportation Manager, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Planning, developing, organizing, directing and evaluating the operations and budget of the transportation division, including traditional and heavy transportation.
- Directing the activities of staff in relation to transportation operations, including dispatching, routing and tracking transportation vehicles.
- Developing and communicating transportation policies and procedures.
- Monitoring operations to ensure that staff comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts and government regulations.
- Managing the annual CVIP program
- Preventative maintenance of equipment
- Manage permit process and develop route studies
- Developing key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of transportation operations.
- Directing investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints.
- Coaching, training, managing and appraising the performance of transportation personnel.
- Developing and maintaining the constructive and cooperative working relationships, both internally and externally.
- Preparing management recommendations, such as proposed fee and tariff increases or schedule changes.
- Recommending capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment or property to increase efficiency and services of transportation operations.
- Participating in union negotiations and settlement of grievances, where applicable.
- Maintaining an open dialogue with other division managers, both locally and internationally, to coordinate activities and improve performance and productivity.
- At least 5 years of experience in a transportation coordination role and more than five years of experience in a transportation manager role.
- Must have experience in traditional transportation and with Hydraulic Platform trailers and Self-Propelled Modular Trailers.
- Experience procuring equipment.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Familiarity with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- A willingness to travel up to 20%.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Pay:
$160,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
