Your Opportunity:


Reporting to the unit manager, the Outreach Mental Health Clinician works out of the Community Addiction and Mental Health Clinic (CAMHC) - South.

CAMHC-South is an adult, generalist outpatient clinic that provides recovery and goal-focused assessment and treatment that is time-effective for individuals with moderate to severe addiction and mental health concerns.

The client, their family, and treatment team work together in developing a treatment plan with specific goals that will support the client in their journey towards recovery.

The Outreach MHC supports patient flow in the community clinic by offering outreach therapy services including waitlist management, building therapy readiness, assessment, treatment planning, coping/skill building and integration, and supportive discharge to help clients transition back to community settings.

The Outreach MHC may also support clients with barriers to attending the clinic and those who need support connecting with other AHS programs or community resources.

The purpose of this service is to enhance access to services and ensure the seamless transition of care for our patients who are particularly vulnerable.

This position also includes, but is not limited to group support, and support and coverage for intake duties within the CAMHC.

This position is multi-site at SHC, SCHC, and the community.


Description:


As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities.

You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders.

You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required.

You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists.

Required Qualifications:


Occupational Therapists:
Completion of bachelor¿s degree in Occupational Therapy and active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)


Psychologists:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology and active (or eligible registration) with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses:
Completion of an accredited Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing education program and active (or eligible registration) with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA)


Social Workers:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work and active (or eligible registration) with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW).


Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 1-2 years' experience within the last 3 years in an AHS outpatient mental health setting. Training and competency with providing CBT, DBT, CBSST, Trauma Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing. Familiar with Outpatient Services Redesign, specifically the Supportive Discharge processes. Training and experience within the last 2 years offering individual and group therapy. Knowledge of the DSM 5. Excellent computer skills. Demonstrated case management and excellent organizational skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with the recovery framework. Community outreach experience. Knowledge of other AHS and community programs. Ability to problem-solve and work both independently and collaboratively with other disciplines and administrative staff. NVCI. BLS.
