Regulatory and Environmental Lead
Gas Liquids Engineering (GLE) is a well-established, privately-owned engineering firm providing EPCM services to the energy industry, including project management, engineering, drafting and design, procurement, construction management and regulatory services.
The Regulatory and Environmental Lead will provide advisory on regulatory and environmental approval processes for energy facilities and pipelines in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
This position will involve close interactions across various client projects as well as internal disciplines including engineering, drafting, and procurement.
As lead of our regulatory team your responsibilities, will include, but are not limited to:- Air Quality Dispersion Modelling (AERMOD, AERflare-incin, etc.).
- Provide advice and guidance on various regulations, codes, and standards in determining compliance during the entire lifecycle of a project.
- Act as a liaison between disciplines, provincial and federal regulators, thirdparty consultants (i.e., environmental and surface land), and clients.
- Generate and oversee project schedules for regulatory tasks and deliverables.
- Ensure technical quality of work including review of client deliverables (proposals, reports, and mapping).
- Work directly with other Project Managers and the Business Development team in the development of project proposals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or other relevant science degree (i.e., biological/physical science).
- 5+ years of regulatory experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of current regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the oil and gas industry.
- Experience in power generation & transmission, and/or other sectors of the energy industry is an asset.
- Proven experience in evaluation of environmental data, permits, and related reports to determine regulatory compliance, as well as presentation of findings to clients in a professional manner.
- Experience with atmospheric emission modelling is an asset.
- Experience in carbon sequestration, hydrogen production and transmission technology are an asset.
- P. Eng. in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator, e.g., APEGA, EGBC, APEGS, or EGMB is desirable but not essential.
- Highly motivated with a proven ability to foster relationships and work with multiple stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work and adapt in a flexible, fastpaced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office software suite.
Salary:
$55,136.74-$128,580.00 per year
