Role-
Maintenance Lead Hand


Shift:


  • Day Shift 6 AM 3 PM (Mon-Fri)


This position is responsible for ensuring that the bakery runs effectively, and efficiently and ensuring that its team applies uniform standards and complies with all regulatory and plant GMP requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervises the work of shift Mechanics with a view to maintaining and maximizing equipment uptime and minimizing downtime
  • Establish strong relationships with all work groups and works with a collaborative style
  • Responsible for maintenance and repairs to all plant mechanical systems and equipment
  • Lead the team through the process of troubleshooting breakdowns, downtime reports, and Root Cause Fault Analyses
  • Maintains Maintenance /Sanitation Activity Tags Log book and provides updates
  • Report all deficiencies to supervisor (i.e. employee issues, quality concerns, staff shortage, overtime hours, process concerns)
  • Shift coverage and shift work may be required and create a positive work environment
  • Assist in the ordering of mechanical components and maintaining the inventory of critical parts
  • Work together with all other departments to ensure a productive team environment and the continuous improvement of the plant processes
  • Be one point of contact for maintenance leadership during off hours
  • Report any concerns and/or problems to the supervisor through daily written and verbal reporting
  • Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality, and quality
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Must hold a valid license, or more than 57 years of experience in the trade is required
  • Certificate of Qualifications, Ontario Industrial Mechanic Millwright is preferred
  • Able to read blueprints and follow equipment schematics
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Able to set priorities and lead others
  • A team builder who is selfmanaged and able to set priorities among conflicting priorities
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills able to document findings and prepare Root Cause Analyses
  • Good team builder
  • Tenacious, excellent communication and organizational skills
