Description
Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Hydro Vac Operator will assist in the installation of telecommunication cables and apparatuses to support the project construction team.
Responsibilities
Execute all work assigned safely
Operate the Hydro Vac truck while maintain the vehicle.
Perform work including exposing cables and conduits for all utilities via hydrovac system.
Transport cargo and/or equipment in a safe manner.
Complete the daily maintenance programs as per equipment specifications.
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment, and monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness
Complete Driver's logbook & daily vehicle inspection, maintenance and repair reports, accident or incident reports.
Must be able to plan travel schedule and routes, receive and relay information to supervisor
Loading and unloading of goods; tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
Possibly operate small power tools (e.g. compaction jumping jacks, cut saws, air compressors and generators)
Will perform all other duties as required by operation manager
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's licence (AZ or DZ license).
- 2 plus years experience driving a hydro vac truck and experience in knowing how to operate the Hydro Vac truck in a safe manner.
- Previous Hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck or other related oil and gas experience preferred.
- Fully trained in the operations and maintenance of the truck and comfortable trouble shooting and minor repairs in the field.
- Comfortable around underground utility services.
- Must provide a clean driving record (abstract) and criminal check prior to employment commencing.
- Familiarity with CVOR requirements.
- Must possess and exhibit strong safety acumen and demonstrate safe work practices.
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate a strong customer service focus.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Willingness to follow INTUS best practices with focus on Best Operator, Best Truck.
- Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty.
- Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in all outdoor elements for extended periods of time.
- Confined Space Entry may be required to accomplish tasks for some clients when applicable.
- Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Must be able to climb ladders, and work from stationary platforms from elevated heights.
- Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
