POSITION OVERVIEW


The role will have the opportunity to create a strong employee experience, from the initial onboarding program throughout each milestone in the employee journey, supported by a deep understanding of employment legislation, current provincial legislation, employment and payroll standards, health and safety, recruitment and employee training and development.

They support each CCHF employee in numerous ways, from individual staff training all the way to reporting, analysis and presentation for the senior leadership team (SLT).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Champion & Operationalize HR Strategic Initiatives

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the business strategic plan
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies and programs, including the Employee Handbook
  • Steward CCHF cultural excellence goals to maximize employee engagement
  • Nurture a positive working environment by addressing employee relations matters, including performance management and workplace investigations, ensuring legal compliance
  • Lead the performance management system to drive a high performing environment
  • Other projects as assigned, i.e., Engagement and Retention, DEI, Learning & Development, Health & Safety to name a few

2. Human Resources &
Payroll Administration**- Act as first point of contact and resource for staff and management inquiries, ensuring appropriate follow-up and responsiveness

  • Oversee all HR activities associated with the employee lifecycle such as new hire onboarding, administering leaves of absences, benefit changes, transfers, RRSP Contributions, and terminations
  • Serve as HRIS and Payroll (ADP) Administrator
  • Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
  • Support all audits related to Payroll
  • Maintain all personnel and payroll files
  • Proactively seek ways to automate workflow processes

3. Talent Acquisition, Training
, Onboarding
& Offboarding

  • Full cycle support of talent acquisition including development of job descriptions, use of employment agencies and search firms, job posting, screening interviews, reference checks and onboarding of new hires
  • Manage the Coop/Intern program, leading all aspects of recruiting, university/college relationship building
  • Help identify training needs and provide opportunities for staff competencies, development, and professional growth
  • Develop and coordinate inhouse general training programs
  • Manage the endtoend process for offboarding of departing employees including exit interviews and control of access to various IT systems, e.g., ADP, SharePoint

4. HR Reporting & Analytics

  • Monitor key HR metrics to provide insights and recommendations
  • Cadenced periodic performance reporting as well as analytical reporting which provide insights into employee experience and retention

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Postsecondary education with a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in a generalist role, including experience at the management level
  • CHRP/CHRL designation is required; a Payroll designation (PCP or CPM) is strongly preferred
  • Advanced experience with HRIS, ADP Team Pay and ezLabor. Experience with BambooHR and PerformYard highly desirable
  • Demonstrate professionalism and communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with mínimal direction
  • Excellent problemsolving abilities, analytical and conflict resolution skills
  • Superior written and oral communication, including active listening and influencing
  • Proven ability to anticipate needs and prioritize competing priorities efficiently
  • Model a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment
  • Relevant knowledge and experience with workplace legislation (OHSA, Employment Standards, Human Rights, etc.)
  • Experience with a national organization is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated competency in systems and tools, such as MS Office suite, ADP Team Pay, Salesforce, CRM

  • Flexibility to work occasionally beyond regular work schedule to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel within Canada and USA
