- Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair high speed machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Perform equipment changeovers and production line set ups.
- Perform preventative maintenance following schedules and procedures.
- Assemble, install and overhaul existing and new machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot, maintain and program PLC's and PLC software and hardware controlled equipment and machinery.
- Rebuild and fabricate parts.
- Perform building maintenance and maintain a clean and safe work area and environment.
- Adjust, repair or replace defective electrical parts and components.
- Complete assigned work orders and required maintenance and repair logs.
- Read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, schematics and operation manuals.
- Suggest improvement to existing equipment, maintenance procedures and practice.
- Perform all assigned duties following applicable laws and regulations including but not limited to: Building and Electrical Codes, Environmental Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety etc.
- Electromechanical Technician Diploma (minimum 3 year program) or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 – 5 years' experience in the maintenance field, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
- Experience with PLC programming (essential).
- Strong mechanical, electrical and technical background.
- Strong knowledge of troubleshooting, adjusting and repairing manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of various legislation including but not limited to: Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, Building and Electrical Codes, Environmental Act, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast paced environment.
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, CMMS and other integrated computer software and computerized devices.
- Results orientated and able to work in a team based environment.
- Excellent organizational skills.
