- Assist with capital projects by tracking updates, documenting changes, and maintaining basic project information
- Perform basic civil engineering calculations in accordance with County standards
- Assist with construction inspections, permit inspections, site investigations, and CCC/FAC processes
- Support resolution of construction issues under supervision
- Provide field support including surveying, quantity measurements, data collection, and in‑house project supervision tasks
- Assist with coordination and communication between consultants, contractors, and internal departments
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, technical files, and records
- Support preparation and review of technical documents, draft drawings, surveys, and tender/RFQ/RFP components
- Respond to public inquiries related to construction activities
- Assist with distributing construction notifications to affected stakeholders
- Support general administrative tasks such as report preparation and document organization
- Provide excellent customer service to colleagues, stakeholders, and the public
- Contribute positively to team and organizational culture
- Follow County OH&S policies, safe work procedures, and records management requirements
- Other related duties as assigned
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology post‑secondary program with satisfactory academic standing
- 0–2 years of related experience
- Experience with surveying equipment, GIS, or CAD is an asset
- Exposure to construction or project management is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with satisfactory driver's abstract
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles, municipal infrastructure, and construction practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and survey information
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and basic CAD/GIS tools
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Comfortable working in outdoor field conditions and maintaining accurate records
- Combination of office and outdoor field work
- Physical requirements include walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., and extended computer use
- Hourly wage: $22.89 to $30.01 hourly
- Full Time Summer/Seasonal position – May to December, 2026 – flexible end date as mutually agreed upon
- Hours: Based on a 40‑hour work week. May require overtime in evenings and weekends as needed for special projects.
