Barry Callebaut is opening a brand new facility in Brantford The plant will open in 2025, we are looking for it's first Plant Manager

Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage plant operations, maintenance, planning, quality of operations, and shipping in an organizational environment;
  • Coordinate with his team the achievement of operational objectives effectively (formulation of short and long term planning);
  • Prepare and manage operational budgets ensuring their efficient use;
  • Adapt corporate policies and programs (FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, etc.) to concrete and operational production plans for the plant;
  • Work effectively in developing employee engagement and excellent working relationships;
  • Control and optimize safety, quality, costs and manufacturing efficiency;
  • Control and manage the costs of overtime and repairs (maintenance);
  • Provide the leadership, direction and coaching necessary to achieve the objectives of the organization;
  • Achieve a level of optimization of employees with the least possible overhead and raw material costs in order to achieve the objectives;
  • Coordinate various activities within the organization by acting as a liaison between departments and functions and inform staff of policy decisions and any other information that could affect their performance;
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve production, reduce costs and losses and resume planning;
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of production standards;
  • Ensure that the management of activities adheres to rules and regulations such as health and safety, hygiene, environmental requirements, technical rules and regulations;
  • Represent the company to various institutions, authorities, the community and customers;
  • Help maintain product safety by adopting behaviors that meet defined requirements.

Profile:


  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, administration or other related training;
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in food production, preferably in process oriented operations or similar industry;
  • Experience starting a new plant;
  • Minimum of 7 years experience leading a large division of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer;
  • Experience in good production methods and valueadded programs;
  • Experience in a unionized environment;
  • Operational knowledge of a budget and financial statements;
  • Demonstrates significant achievements in terms of growth and profitability;
  • Excels in labor relations and makes health and safety a priority;
  • Acts as a change agent and visionary.
