Description

As a Grocery Store Cashier at Vicinity Mart, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while accurately and efficiently processing transactions at the checkout counter.

You will handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, assist customers with inquiries, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

This position involves working flexible hours, including morning and evening shifts.

Responsibilities:

Greet customers as they approach the checkout counter in a friendly and courteous manner.
Scan items, process transactions accurately, and handle cash, credit, and debit card payments.
Ensure all products are properly scanned, priced, and bagged.
Assist customers with any inquiries regarding products, prices, or store policies.
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including cleaning conveyor belts, counters, and bagging areas.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of necessary supplies such as bags, receipt paper, and change.
Handle returns and exchanges following store policies and procedures.
Adhere to all cash handling procedures and maintain accuracy in cash drawer transactions.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient store operations.
Follow all safety and security procedures to prevent theft and loss.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
Basic math skills and the ability to calculate discounts and change.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and multitask effectively.
Flexibility to work morning and evening shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Willingness to adhere to all store policies and procedures.

Work Schedule:
Morning

Shift:
Typically starts between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM and ends in the early afternoon.
Evening

Shift:
Typically starts in the afternoon or early evening and ends between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Pay:
$17.75-$19.00 per hour
