Standard work hours are Monday - Friday, however hours may vary to meet program needs


Salary:
$60,000-$65,000 annually (Plus
$6 per hour for Licensed ECE's as per the Provincial Government's Wage Enhancement Initiative)

About the position:


Reporting to the Director of Operations, Children and Youth Services, the Program Manager, Child Care is responsible for leading the operations of 4 Early Years child care programs and initiatives designed to positively impact the health and well-being of children and families.

The 4 child care programs in this portfolio provide enhanced programs and resources to children and families such as hot lunches, family dinners, music and art therapy, and other unique programs identified by the program staff and family support workers.


As identified in the Association's Strategic Plan, key priorities for this position will be to support the growth of licensed child care, provide leadership to staff and build/maintain relationships with key stakeholders.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Provide leadership to 4 YMCA child care programs that deliver wrap around services to vulnerable children and families, with a focus on building a culture of respect, understanding and appreciation for the unique backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences that everyone brings in our communities.
  • Establish an environment that fosters cultural safety and inclusivity for staff, children, and families.
  • Coach, develop and support 8 direct reports and approximately 40 front line staff to achieve excellence in service
  • Ensure the delivery of highquality programs and services that meet Provincial Licensing Legislation and YMCA requirements and standards
  • Responsible for all aspects of budgeting and Healthy Family Network donor funding
  • Be an engaged and integral part of a cohesive management team, working to achieve the mission of YMCA BC
  • Commitment and focused attention to ensuring the Branch meet's association commitments and targets with regards to annual operating plans and budgets, fundraising, grant proposals, YMCA Initiatives, other special projects, while ensuring that all programs operate at maximum capacity.

Qualifications:


  • 5 years' experience leading a team of staff or volunteers
  • University Degree in related field preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills including strong business writing skills
  • Proven track record of effectively collaborating with diverse or marginalized communities
  • Proven experience with stakeholder and partner engagement
  • First Aid Certificate required
