    Description:

    As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

  • Required Qualifications:

    Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Equivalencies may be considered. Minimum 2 years' experience. Cardiology training and experience including ECG's and Holter Monitors. All blood collection procedures including: venipuncture, micropunctures, blood culture collection as well as collections on all patient ages including newborns, pediatrics and geriatrics. Recent macro and micro urinalysis experience. Non-GDL Class 5 Driver's License is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Familiar with Clinitek Advantus. Recent experience with Muse and Cardioday. Recent and relevant experience with Epic Beaker. Current registration with CSMLS. Ability to communicate effectively in English. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and promote teamwork.
