About the Role

Duties & Responsibilities

General

  • Perform process payroll, admin of benefits through on and off boarding of employees, accounting (invoicing and reconciliations) and clerical functions to support the Accounting Department

Payroll and Benefits

  • Process semimonthly payroll with excellent knowledge of legislative payroll requirements and payroll accounting for 100+ employees in multiple locations
  • Update Benefits providers on a timely basis as part of the on/off boarding process

Accounting

  • Assist with Daily Cash reconciliations of Merchant accounts
  • Assist with preparation and distribution of Customer invoicing
  • Prepare worksheets & spreadsheets, general journal entries, and record transactions to the accounting software
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures

Other

  • Assist in special projects and initiatives
  • Other duties will be assigned as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a College Diploma in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting support role for a large company
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Software environment is considered an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years processing payroll is required
  • Previous experience in ADP Workforce Now is preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of Accounting practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel and its functionality at an intermediate level
  • A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
  • The ability to work well independently
  • Meticulous record keeping skills and strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • A strong work ethic, diligence, and commitment
  • The ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
