Role Summary:

We're seeking both seasoned and motivated contract and service personnel (journeyperson only). Service personnel may receive a fleet vehicle and participate in a weekly on-call rotation. Mileage reimbursement may be applicable. Travel throughout Calgary and surrounding areas is essential. With operations running 24/7, start times can vary, usually from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work opportunities.

Knowledge & Responsibilities required:


  • Execute all operations (installations, service, maintenance, repairs) in strict adherence to industry regulations
  • Service and repair sprinkler systems using advanced problemsolving skills
  • Uphold health and safety policies, maintaining proper documentation
  • Conduct inspections with integrity and professionalism
  • Complete comprehensive inspection/repair/service reports promptly
  • Participate in weekly oncall service rotation (service personnel only)
  • Maintain confidentiality in all client dealings
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of materials and equipment
  • Verify shipments of materials (project personnel only)
  • Perform vehicle inspections and maintain company vehicles (if applicable)
  • Familiarity with NFPA 25, NFPA 2001, NFPA 11, and NFPA 20
  • Conducting inspections, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing varied equipment and systems according to NFPA guidelines, including waterbased fire protection systems, wet and antifreeze sprinkler systems electrical alarm sensors, dry fire sprinkler systems, backflow preventers and special hazard systems and testing of gauges, standpipes, hoses, and valves.
  • Locating test connections, risers, sprinkler locations, and alarm panels to conduct testing of the facility.
  • Perform all aspects of weekly, monthly, quarterly, semiannual, annual, 3year, and 5year preventative maintenance activities
  • Supervise and evaluate apprentices' competency

Qualifications

Basic Requirements - Journeyperson:
 WHMIS

 Journeyman certificate (sprinkler systems installer)

 First aid (Preferably Level 2)

 Fall protection

 Aerial work platform

 Class 5 driver's license

Backflow Tester Certification

Fire Pump Operations and Maintenance Training (preferred)

Hydrant Maintenance/Repair/Flowing Courses (preferred)

$40.00-$45.00 per hour
