CareCorp Seniors Services, a trusted long-term care and assisted living contractor, is currently hiring a Support Service Manager for one of our service delivery sites, Lynn Valley Care Center.

This is a temporary full-time position (3_
months minimum_

Position Summary

The Support Services Manager will assess and evaluate the food preparation and safe food handling practices and procedures, in accordance with the established policies and procedures and licensing requirements, to ensure high quality, nutritious and appealing meals for the residents.

Responsibilities also include hiring, scheduling/workload, supervising and evaluating Food Service, Laundry, Housekeeping staff, and administration preparation of the departmental budget.


Responsibilities

  • Develops, executes, controls, achieves and evaluates departmental goals, objectives, policies and procedures and ensure that the required standards, Food Safety and sanitation are met.
  • Identifies and implements systems and processes which ensure the facility remains fully operational with mínimal "downtime" during regular and emergency situations.
  • Ensures licensing, client, CareCorp, and industry standards are met/exceeded in providing high quality meals and snacks to meet the nutritional needs of residents.
  • Maintains communication and develops relationships with the CareCorp management team, professional organizations, suppliers, sales representatives, collaborative agencies, and the community as a whole.
  • Supervises all food and environmental services staff by performing duties such as interviewing, hiring, scheduling and coordinating work assignments, evaluating employee performance, disciplines employees and determining related training and orientation requirements.
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping/laundry, dietary services and equipment, and takes corrective action.
  • Conducts orientation training and inservice training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping, laundry and dietary staff.

Qualifications

Certified member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management;_

  • Experience managing staff,including a unionized environment;
  • Minimum of three years experience in the food service industry;
  • Experience in a complex care or assisted living setting;
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Cultural education and experience are preferred.
