Digital Communications Manager


The Canadian Music Therapy Fund (CMTF) is a national charity whose mission is to promote, develop, and support music therapy across the country.

We bring music therapy to rural, urban and remote communities from coast-to-coast through innovative programs. Recent initiatives include music therapy programs for frontline healthcare workers and children/youth who have been impacted by Covid-19. A program of the CMTF is the Music Therapy Centre in Toronto, which provides accessible music therapy services.


Position Summary:


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Digital Communications Manager is responsible for communicating and maintaining the charity's image, brand and values.


This position is a contract for 15hrs/week.

Pay scale:
$20-30/hr depending on experience


6-month contract with possibility of extending

Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead content research
  • Analyze social media content
  • Expand social media reach and engagement
  • Design posts for all social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Copywriting for social media, website, newsletter
  • Design newsletters, ads and decks
  • Design graphics, logos and event banners
  • Develop, manage and maintain website
  • Lead all video production, content production, content editing and posting on the website and social media
  • Other duties

Education and Experience

  • Postsecondary education in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Experience working in charitable organizations
  • Experience working with a variety of social media channels including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the profession of music therapy and the Canadian Association of Music Therapists
  • Shares new ideas and challenges the status quo
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and an eye for design and aesthetics
  • Comfortable using Illustrator, Premier Pro (or other video editing software), InDesign and Photoshop
  • Photography, videography and editing skills are an asset
  • Experience with website design
  • Comfortable with paid social media marketing (Facebook & Instagram)
