Four Points by Sheraton Halifax is seeking a dynamic individual to join our kitchen team as a dishwasher.The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a clean and appealing work area while washing all dishes and utensils for the restaurant either by hand or with the dishwasher, according to policy standards.
Reports to the Executive Chef. Works under general instructions to prioritize and complete assigned tasks.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist kitchen staff in special tasks and assignments when needed.
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
- Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
- Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
- Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
- Sweep or mop kitchen floors.
- Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
- Sort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
- Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas.
- Receive and store supplies.
- Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used by guests visiting the workplace.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Some heavy lifting is required.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Use of cleaning chemicals
