    The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the overseeing and directing the work product of other Team Leads & Custodians. As the Custodial Supervisor, you are responsible for assigning and directing the work, carrying out visual inspections and formal audits of cleaned spaces, addressing complaints and recommending solutions and reporting any disciplinary concerns to the Manager.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Participates in ongoing training of Leads and Custodians.
    • Monitors and maintains work schedules and ensures that employees complete work assignments and checklists in a timely manner.
    • Completes daily Supervisor Communication Sheet at the end of every shift to inform next shift of important updates and information.
    • Maintains and requisitions cleaning supplies as well as maintain a record of stock.
    • Maintains the interior and exterior of the buildings and their surrounding grounds.
    • Keeps buildings and grounds in clean and orderly condition.

    *This is a cross-train position and hours will be based on operational needs*

    Requirements

    WHAT IT TAKES

    Apply today if you meet the following requirements:

    • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent is preferred.
    • Experience working with chemicals.
    • Supervisory experience in custodial industry.
    • Knowledge of WHMIS, MSDS program and Occupational Health and Safety Standards preferred.
    • Experience working with quality control checks to ensure that projects meet all standard requirements for cleanliness using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
    • Computer proficiency required including advanced Excel, Word, Outlook, and databases.
    • Ability to operate, walk, behind and ride on a variety of cleaning equipment.
    • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.

    • Note that this position is an in-scope position under the RWDSU Collective Agreement. Shift start & stop times and scheduled days may be adjusted during course of employment, based on operational requirements.
