The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of PointClickCare will report to the SVP & GM, Acute & Payer.

The primary role of the CMO will be to provide leadership and direction for all clinically-associated activities associated with the Acute & Payer business unit, and will be a key member of the Company's leadership team, helping to set the overall strategic direction of the business unit.

It is likely these activities will include Sales and Engagement, Product Support, and Regulatory Affairs.

The CMO will serve as the face of the Acute & Payer business unit to the medical community and other healthcare authorities.

In addition, the CMO will serve as the medical voice for both customers and patients within and outside the Company as a whole, and act as the Company's primary medical representative.

In this capacity, the CMO will interact with external audiences, including healthcare delivery providers, payers, regulators, healthcare policy bodies, and investors.


Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership in Market Positioning and Employee Culture


Through direct experience, (prospect) customer discussions, and market assessments, inform PointClickCare's external positioning, messaging and marketing, and represent PointClickCare externally in thought leadership.

Participate in, and guide key PointClickCare events, including Summit, ConnectCare, and the Clinical Collaboration Conferences.

Inform the alignment of the Company's mission, internal education, and employee wellness programs to maintain and amplify its mission-oriented, informed, and healthy company culture.


  • Examples include: Speaking engagements, panels, PointClickCareled and third party conferences, social media, internal/external training, as well as internal messaging for company alignment. Work with HR on Wellness initiatives._

Sales and Customer Engagement

  • Participate in sales strategy and key sales cycles/meetings, as well as support marquis customers to internalize input, increase engagement and ensure retention. Work on regional health system and government projects to optimize topdown approaches and network effect. Additionally identify and work with strategic (prospective) customers for partnership on innovative projects and growth opportunities. Represent PointClickCare in sales and engagementoriented events.

  • Examples include: support crosssell and upsell of core and acute and payer customers through product marketing support and direct customer meetings; interact with key customers to build defensible and deep relationships with both users and buyers; inform specific nodal targeting to support regional penetration (e.g, ACO, ISNP, PACE programs) and deepen networks in key markets to drive competitive positioning and additional sales; guide approach and represent PointClickCare in the Clinical Collaboration Event, ConnectCare, and Health Management Academy._

Product and Strategy Advisor

  • Guide work across PointClickCare to connect siloed or modular technologies and care settings to position the Company as a modern healthcare platform. Focus on natural synergies in the business, starting with the Acute & Payer market's specific overlaps with postacute, SNF, and home health, and looking at the data flow and technology stack to support it. Work with product, clinical, and partnership teams to align on Company wide goals and specific high value projects. Determine appropriate specific clinical or financial outcomes to measure progress on these initiatives.
  • Examples include: optimize data/care insight flow across acute, payer and core PointClickCare platforms; develop approaches to specific care nodes (e.g., home care, physician groups, ambulatory) to maximize value and support the network effect; advise on build/buy/partner approach across the enterprise._

Clinical and Regulatory Content Management

  • Examples include: clinical oversight on care insights and patient safety initiatives; ongoing review of evidencebased medicine within the core platform; CEHRT support for CMS billing._

Required Experience:


  • MD or DO, with Board Certification or Eligibility in applicable clinical specialty
  • Over 10 years of healthcare experience, including both software and healthcare customer experience (examples include health system, health plan, Post Acute operator).
  • Recent or active clinical care.
