Borealis Wind is increasing production and revenue for cold-climate wind farms. We are addressing the problem of icing on wind turbine blades, which results in prolonged downtime during the winter. Our patented device is an Internal Protection System that is a heating retrofit that prevents and removes ice buildup.

About the Role:

The position of Control System Co-op is required to write control system code in structured text for PLCs (similar to C++) and/or ladder logic for our PLC.

This co-op position is open between May 2023 and August 2023 for students looking for a 4 month co-op position.

What you will do:

• Writes code for the PLC based on Pseudo Code provided by the Engineering Team using a language similar ot C++ and/or ladder logic.
• Assists in engineering team design reviews.
• Completes detailed documentation of all work performed.

What you will bring:

• Studying in the field of Engineering, Engineering Technology, Mathematics, or Science
• Experience with ladder logic
• Experience in Python, Matlab, C, C++, Structured Text (for PCL), or similar programming language
• Experience with SQL is an asset
• Ability to read electrical schematics is an asset
• Experience with CAD software is an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Analytical thinker with an inquisitive mind
• Excellent problemsolving skills
