Job Description:


AECOM's Transportation group is searching for a Rail engineering technician for full time employment in a secondment role with our client in their Moncton, NB, office, as a CN Design & Construction Officer.

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to stakeholder and public questions regarding CN;
  • Providing support with regards to CN Work Permits required by third-party agents looking to work on or around CN property;
  • Supporting CN Design & Construction Engineer with project management responsibilities;
  • Act as CN's representative at meeting with external stakeholders;
  • The position requires awareness of Transport Canada regulations and liaises with municipalities and internal/external stakeholders (Engineering, Public Relations, and Regulatory Affairs);
  • The individual must work in collaboration with eternal stakeholders to formalize utility crossings into an agreement, including making adjustments to reflect the specifics of each project;
  • Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety and code requirements.;
  • Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation;
  • General understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:


  • College diploma;
  • 4 years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Technical knowledge, writing and communication skills;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Time management and problem-solving skills;
  • Holds a Civil Engineering Technologist Degree, Engineering Degree, or related degree/diploma;
  • Communication in both English and French is considered an asset;
  • Railway experience is considered an asset.
Additional Information


  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
  • Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $55,000 - $75,000.
