Job Summary

  • The Registrar's Office (RO) is a large, multiunit, multisite operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Director, Recruitment, the Assistant Registrar, Recruitment and Special Events is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of diverse on
- and off-campus programs and special events aimed at prospective students and their supporters. The incumbent is also an integral part of the recruitment and admission team, which is responsible for activities related to the recruitment and admission of undergraduate students to Dalhousie.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and evaluate small
- and large-scale recruitment events for potential students and applicants both on
- and off-campus.

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with appropriate on
- and off-campus service providers (e.g. Food Services, Housing, Security, etc.) and liaise with these units as required when planning events.

  • Undertake project management duties related to oncampus activities and be responsible for invoice processing, activity budget, and tracking inventory of materials.
  • Oversee processes around event and space bookings; prepare event calendars; prepare followup communications and surveys, etc.
  • Share knowledge of Dalhousie's programs, services and admissions requirements by speaking at special events on campus and to community and educational groups off campus.

Note

The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

Dalhousie's vaccine mandate has been suspended at this time, and employees no longer need to provide proof of full vaccination.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum of two to three years' related administrative experience in postsecondary environment.
  • Eventplanning experience.
  • Considerable experience with public speaking and oneonone communication.
  • Knowledge of high school programs.

Assets

  • Experience working in admissions, recruitment or student services.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and international education systems.
  • Experience with Banner and/or student information systems.
