  • We are hiring a parttime Settlement Services Assistant located in Whister, BC at 25 hours per week.
  • This is a 12month position with the opportunity for renewal.

    What you'll do
  • Capilano University is committed to providing settlement and community connections activities and services to immigrants. Under the limited supervision of the Dean, Education, Health and Human Development, the Settlement Services Assistant works to help immigrants assisting them either individually or in groups, including supporting them to access public services and community resources by identifying needs and making appropriate referrals to community agencies and establishing a mentoring/hosting program.
    Please note, this position is located in Whistler, BC.


The Settlement Services Assistant works individually with program participants to conduct personal needs assessments and handles sensitive and confidential information.

The incumbent will promote the program, arrange and attend community meetings to increase communication about immigrant-related issues and assist with the contract reporting.


What you'll bring

  • Diploma in a related human/social service field
  • Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
  • Two years of related experience

    Salary
  • Normal starting salary placement is between $44,890 $59,853 (based on 35 hrs per week). This position is eligible for annual salary increases through participation in the University Performance and Development Program (PDP). The top of range for this position is $62,845. Note that Capilano University also offers a competitive total rewards package (college pension plan, employer paid benefit premiums, health spending account, modified work week, remote working options etc).
