TELECOM PLANNER - QUALITY CONTROL

Responsibilities:_

- _Develop, write, discuss and implement _quality _assurance and standards processes and procedures;_
- _Work closely with the technical project team supporting quality of data, designs and CAD created drawings for both underground and civil aspects as they relate to fiber or other broadband projects;_
- _Assist the team with coaching and development of resources to ensure quality and drawing and design standards meets both the customer requirements as well as the local authority requirements;_
- _Verify the correct usage of data sets, external references and field notes by project team members. Identify missing or incorrect information;_
- _Liaison with Municipal/Hydro/Other approving authorities to understand, document and catalog their specific local requirements for permitting. Create playbooks and reference _documentation _for the project teams;_
- _Provide feedback in the form of redlines, markups and notations on CAD and P.Eng. drawings as related to _integrity _of data, adherence to local, provincial, federal, and other requirements._
- _Responsible for ensuring key dates and benchmarks are met by internal external resources to maintain critical project schedules and project completion deadlines for customers;_
- _Responsible for _operating _in defined budgets while working under pressure on multiple tasks._
- _The ongoing development of Planview USL's CAD processes, design standards and methodologies to further develop _design and operational efficiencies;

  • Other activities as required.

Specific Requirements of the Position:_
- _Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills;_
- _Past experience in either a Quality control role related directly to civil, electrical or telecommunication drawings and designs or equivalent education required;_
- _Understanding of Fiber to the Home design and construction in rural settings preferred;_
- _Past project _management _and resource supervisory role with a proven track record of success considered an asset;_
- _Excellent written and oral communication skills;_
- _The ability to read and interpret engineering work plans;_
- _Proficient in working in AutoCAD environment, a test will be administered;_
- _C.E.T. or E.I.T. designation considered an asset;_
- _Familiar with industry codes, engineering practices, standards, and construction methods;_
- _Knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity software._
