Project AssistantHFX Steel Framing Solutions is locally owned and operated light gauge steel manufacturer based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
We manufacture and assemble light gauge steel (LGS) structures in our facility (prefab) for residential and commercial buildings in the province.
We offer a comprehensive service where we are with our clients from engineering and designing to shipping and installation.We do not consider that the job is completed until our customer is satisfied Our operations are growing rapidly, and we are looking to grow our team to match.
Position Description:
As Project Assistant, you will assist the design and production teams during all phases of the project. Ensuring progression of the projects throught each department by being a supportive member to each team.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, organizing, and maintaining all related project documents.
- Creating layouts and plans based on design and production teams instructions.
- Creating templates for company deliverables.
- Regular visits to construction sites to monitor progress including documenting and reporting on project site activities.
- Following up with contractors to ensure things are done in a timely manner.
- Other duties as required.
- Minimum 2 years as CAD tech or similar design software experience
- Experience in construction / construction management is an asset
- Experience in light gauge steel is an asset
- Familiarity with municipal regulations and approval processes
Salary:
$45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Dartmouth, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
- Auto
CAD:
1 year (preferred)
