Job Description:


We are looking for an editor in chief to be responsible for driving the direction of our mass-luxury travel publications Range and Range Best and building them into award-winning powerhouse media brands.

This person will cultivate the publication's digital and print formats and grow the world around it. They will determine its vision and direction, curating and managing the production of all content for the publications.

The responsibilities of the editor in chief include creating the tone and scope of the publications, reviewing articles and photographs, contributing to editorial pieces, managing day-to-day operations, leading the editorial team, writing editorial pieces and being the face of the publications.

The editor will also be responsible for building out our in-house capabilities to produce and deliver the publication with exceptional quality but also in a profitable manner.

An understanding of the business behind publication building is necessary as we build what can be a marquee brand property in the consumer travel industry.


To be successful as our editor in chief, you should demonstrate a sense of vision and purpose, a drive to create a media empire, and have a point of view about the industry.

Needless to say, this person must have accurate writing skills, possess good judgment, and great attention to detail.

Ultimately, our editor in chief should have good business acumen, creativity, and be able to work well with a team.


Editor in Chief Responsibilities:


  • Editing articles for accuracy, grammar, and style.
  • Evaluating content and making decisions on appropriateness for the publications.
  • Acting as a representative for the publication at events.
  • Contributing to the recruiting and hiring process.
  • Managing the economics of a profitable publication.
  • Working with the ad sales team to incorporate our partners in a meaningful way.
  • Building out partnership opportunities in creative ways to ensure editorial quality while showcasing our partners in a unique manner that will want them to invest.
  • Developing the success of the publication both in print and digitally and beyond.
  • Driving new opportunities through brand partnerships
  • Building strong relationships within the travel industry
  • Production management support as needed

Qualifications:


  • Degree in journalism, communications, or similar.
  • Solid creative vision and is a tastemaker.
  • Previous experience as editor of a publication (digital and print).
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good decisionmaking skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.


This requires an extremely talented and flexible individual who has a "roll up their sleeves" attitude and is comfortable with a strategic but hands-on position.

They have the ability to relate and build successful relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, use creativity and analytics to influence, champion the customer experience, and successfully drive and position brands.
