Durham College is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide senior-level support in the Office of the Vice President, Academic (VPA).

The incumbent will undertake activities in support of strategic and operational goals; manage relationships across offices within the college and with external stakeholders; provide office reception duties; and support daily operations in the Office of the VPA.

The incumbent will be proactive, anticipating the needs of and taking action to manage multiple priorities. The incumbent will approach their work with a professional attitude and focused attention to detail.

The incumbent will assess and respond to a wide range of issues, both general and confidential in nature, and be comfortable working outside of regular office hours to support college business and initiatives, including evenings and weekends.


Specific responsibilities include:

administrative support including information gathering, responding to inquiries, assisting with projects and miscellaneous requests, proofreading documents, preparing confidential and/or general correspondence; scheduling and calendar management, booking travel arrangements, coordinating events, providing support to cross-institutional committees, track budget expenditures and reconcile credit card statements, working groups and task forces including meeting logistics and minute taking, and supporting academic policy renewal and development including managing the catalogue of policies that fall within the academic portfolio.
