Regional Lead - Central Canada & North Central US

Regional Lead NA Field Testing - Central Canada & North Central US


We are seeking a team of Regional Leads to be responsible for leading multiple breeding field testing sites in your given geography.

You will deliver data necessary to support product advancement and new technology implementation in major row crops, including corn (maize), soybean, cotton, canola, or wheat.

Team members reporting to you may include people leaders, leaders of leaders & individual contributors.

The Regional Lead will be successful through establishing a strong regional culture of safety, compliance excellence, high quality data return, coaching & personal development, efficiency, and collaboration.

The ability to think and act strategically in alignment with Bayer's LIFE values (Leadership, Innovation, Flexibility, and Efficiency) are key to success in the role.

This is a permanent position which may be located at either:
Lethbridge/Calgary, AB or Saskatoon, SK or Winnipeg, MB.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Establish and maintain a strong regional team culture and influence a North America Breeding Field Testing level structure that ensures safe and efficient operation of the research program in alignment with Bayer's HSE, Compliance and Stewardship requirements, and Business Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards;

Lead the personal development of team members and the implementation of a cohesive team environment through coaching, counseling, recognition, and providing clear and timely feedback and lead the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process for new full time team members when needed;

Change champion to drive development and implementation of novel innovation to enhance field testing efficiency and continuously improve data quality;

Develop and implement regional strategy required to meet project and organizational goals, act as the primary point of contact for Plant Breeders, planners, scientists, and other partners with regards to projects being carried out by the regional team;

Leverage metrics to gauge team performance while sharing and incorporating best practices to further enhance data quality;

Work towards continuous improvement of all agricultural practices and processes across the region and enterprise either through direct action or through the work of the team;

Partner with key stakeholders and partners to ensure cross functional business objectives are attained;


Lead the planning and implementation of activities with the help of the team and others to engage the local community in a positive way and help meet company sustainability objectives, serve as an externally facing point of contact for the region.


WHO YOU ARE

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree;

Capability to clearly present information and influence others through oral and written communication;

Experience with financial management of regional budgets, including forecasting, cost management, capital planning, and expenditures;

Valid driver's license. Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company's Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers;

Ability to live in region or within reasonable travel distance to region.


Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.
D. degree with at least eight (8+) years of relevant experience; OR master's degree with at least ten (10+) years of relevant experience; OR bachelor's degree with twelve (12+) years relevant experience;

Five (5+) years of demonstrated people leadership experience;

Broad knowledge of modern agricultural practices, industry trends and technology;

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement team strategy in alignment with higher level organizational goals

This position requires full vaccination against COVID-19.
