Toro Railings is a leading manufacturer of quality railings for residential buildings, offering a variety of design styles which complement the requirements of each unique project.


JOB SUMMARY


The Site Coordinator will work closely with the Site Superintendent to efficiently manage day-to-day projects and assist with field coordination.


This position will be accountable for:

measuring site requirements, identifying discrepancies between site conditions and shop drawings and reporting these back to the project team, coordinating the installation process with third parties, coordinating material deliveries on site, and documenting field records for quality, production, labor, and materials.

This position will be a champion in promoting Toro Aluminum's health and safety program, while assisting the Site Superintendent and Project Manager meet objectives.

This role will have the opportunity to monitor sub-contractors and Toro support.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES


Health & Safety:


  • Conducts basic safety inspections. Takes initiative and works closely with the Site team in identifying hazards, reporting of hazards and incidents promptly and taking corrective action
  • Works in compliance with the Health & Safety Act and regulations including using any equipment, protective devices or clothing required by the employer
Technical/Functional Specific

  • Supports the Superintendents in monitoring quality of railings installed, and undertakes routine quality inspections to ensures standards are met and reports findings and deficiencies to the Project team
  • Ensures project progress is in line with schedule provided from project management team and highlights issues and concerns so these can be addressed promptly
  • Assists in tracking time, materials and equipment on site to ensure these are assigned correctly and returned to vendor if not required
  • Measures site requirements, identifies discrepancies between site conditions and shop drawings and reports these back to the project team
  • Works collaboratively with all internal stakeholders communicating to them on a regular basis to ensure issues and actions are addressed promptly
  • Performs other duties as required by the needs of the business

Internal / External Customer Service:


  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and Toro Aluminum Railings stakeholders
  • Is proactive in identifying issues and helping to address these to best serve the needs of customers.

Administration:


  • Submits site reports 'Job Site Status Report' on a periodical basis in line with specific areas of responsibility

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • High School Diploma
  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Architecture, Construction, Building Science, Engineering or Management is an asset
  • Valid driving license is required
Experience

  • 24 years of experience in construction or a related discipline
  • 13 years of experience in the Railings and glazing industry is an asset
  • Proficient in reading shop drawings
  • Proficient in using measuring tools and equipment (laser levels, 3D scanners, measuring tools)

Skills:


  • Basic knowledge of, or ability to learn, construction specifications, methods, and procedures
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong team player
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software
  • Resilience to being exposed to different weather conditions
