Machine Shop Supervisor - Mississauga, Canada - Aerial Industries Inc.

Description

• Oversee the daytoday operations of the CNC machine shop, ensuring that work orders are completed on time and to the highest quality standards
• Manage a team of CNC machine operators (both lathe and mill), providing guidance and support as needed to ensure optimal performance
• Analyze new drawings and work with lead CNC Machinist to plan machining process, required tooling and fixtures.
• Maintain inventory levels for tooling and inserts and order new tools as necessary
• Occassionaly assist with machining new fixtures on conventional or CNC machines, when required
• Occassionaly assist with production on CNC machines, when required
• Work closely with quality manager to ensure production parts are meeting quality standards and take proactive steps to eliminate any issues
• Work closely with management to understand changing customer demands or production needs and adjust schedules as necessary

• Minimum 10 years of handson work experience in a CNC Machine shop environment
• Strong knowledge of conventional machining practices, including understanding tooling requirements and optimal speeds/feeds for cutting
• Minimum 2 years of previous supervisory experience in a machine shop enviornment
• Previous experience ordering tools for the shop
• Strong leadership and communication skills
