The Club:


Founded in 1911 when Vancouver was just 25 years old, Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club traces its history back to the earliest days of golf on the West Coast.

First located on Canadian Pacific Railway lands, the Club moved in 1960 to the ancestral site of the Musqueam First Nation's winter village.

Shaughnessy has served as the proud host of many prestigious events and notable figures in golf and tennis over these 100+ years.

Today's Club features an award-winning clubhouse, highly ranked and competitive golf course, indoor and outdoor tennis, fitness and a golf performance centre.

The Position:

Our Club is in need of a permanent part-time Dishwasher to join our team.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, this important position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the Club's kitchen, including machine and hand-washing dishware, cookware and silverware.

Responsibilities:


  • Answers to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in order to maintain the Club's kitchen and surrounding areas, keeping them clean and sanitary
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the dishwasher and all associated equipment
  • Proper handling procedures of tableware and kitchen items including equipment
  • Proper handling of all chemicals including storage, transport and first aid as required
  • Ensure dishwasher temperature and PH logs upkeep
  • Has complete knowledge of the location of all kitchen items, storage and equipment
  • Maintains the cleaning schedule for the kitchen
  • Assists with basic cooking tasks like peeling vegetables as required
  • Assists supervisors with extra cleaning as required
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma preferred
  • Restaurant or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the Food Safe certification
  • Working knowledge of sanitation procedures
  • Ability to complete the WHMIS safety course
  • Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and moving quickly
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Compensation and Benefits:

- $ $21.00 hourly wage inclusive of gratuities, commensurate with kitchen experience
