Tasks:
- John Deere controls
- Operate heavy equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
- Calculate weight, distance, volume and length measurements
- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
- Operate computer controlled equipment
- Utilize material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Complete onboard and other logs
- Conduct preoperational checks on equipment
- Prepare accident reports
- Secure special attachments to equipment
- Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
- Operate twoway radios and other communication equipment
- Perform minor repairs to equipment
- Operate hydraulic pumping systems
- Set up and operate various specialized finishing equipment and machines
- Set up and operate various specialized binding equipment and machines
- Repair and rebind damaged or worn books
- Perform preproduction runs of binding or finishing jobs to verify output and to ensure that product specifications are met
- Operate automatic and semiautomatic equipment and machines to bind or finish print material according to specifications
- Pack, weigh and stack bound and finished products on pallet for shipment
