Who we're looking for
National Payroll Specialist
What you'll do:
- Process semimonthly payroll in accordance with federal and provincial employment standards and regulations across Canada
- Support in the selection and implementation of a new payroll system
- Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations, including automation of routine procedures and integration of systems
- Prepare and enter journal entries, and records payroll benefit invoices and payments, in MS Navision
- Develop and prepare payroll, government, and statistical reports
- Prepare remittances for various provincial Workers' Compensation Boards and Employer Health Tax
- Provide support to the Finance team as needed
What you bring:
- 5+ years of practical experience in processing fullcycle payruns
- Relevant professional development completed to complement practical experience
- Willingness to learn and enhance skills
- Ability to selfaudit own work as well as output from payroll system
- Ability to organize workload and time effectively to ensure adherence to all deadlines
- Good technical skills relating to financial software programs
- Extensive experience in administering a multiprovincial payroll with strong knowledge of Employer Standards Acts and Federal requirements
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and processing
- Intermediate Excel knowledge
- Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation (formerly Certified Payroll Manager, or CPM)
