Who we're looking for

National Payroll Specialist

What you'll do:

Process semimonthly payroll in accordance with federal and provincial employment standards and regulations across Canada
Support in the selection and implementation of a new payroll system
Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations, including automation of routine procedures and integration of systems
Prepare and enter journal entries, and records payroll benefit invoices and payments, in MS Navision
Develop and prepare payroll, government, and statistical reports
Prepare remittances for various provincial Workers' Compensation Boards and Employer Health Tax
Provide support to the Finance team as needed

What you bring:

5+ years of practical experience in processing fullcycle payruns
Relevant professional development completed to complement practical experience
Willingness to learn and enhance skills
Ability to selfaudit own work as well as output from payroll system
Ability to organize workload and time effectively to ensure adherence to all deadlines
Good technical skills relating to financial software programs
Extensive experience in administering a multiprovincial payroll with strong knowledge of Employer Standards Acts and Federal requirements
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and processing
Intermediate Excel knowledge
Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation (formerly Certified Payroll Manager, or CPM)
