Vollmer is currently seeking an experienced
Controls Technician to join our team in Windsor, Ontario.
Reporting directly to the Division Manager this individual will be a key resource to the Controls Division taking on the day-to-day responsibilities including but not limited to; drawing review, document maintenance, managing new and retrofit installs, servicing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of environmental control systems while providing exceptional customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary
- Oversee onsite installations, reference blueprints, specifications, shop drawings and manuals.
- Complete system startups, commission, and asbuilt documentation of new control system installations.
- Perform service, repairs, and troubleshoot of building environment control systems.
- Carry out preventative maintenance service as part of service agreements, periodic inspections, replacement, and programming modifications to optimize system performance as needed.
- Keep current on all products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
- Perform contract document review and material takeoffs.
- Design, compile and submit required contract documents.
- Provide technical support and basic training to customers.
- Available for afterhours and weekend shifts for afterhours service.
- Respond to emergency calls on weekends and/or evenings as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Electronics, Process Controls, Building Automation, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 1 years' experience working with building automation systems and HVAC.
- Experience in Reliable Controls or other Building Automation Control systems.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Suite (i.e.,Word, Excel, Visio).
- Familiarity with advanced programming requirements for DDC systems.
- Able to interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, project plans, or other technical documents.
- Good working knowledge of the operation, installation, and servicing of peripheral devices.
- Sound knowledge of HVAC equipment and systems.
- Troubleshooting and problemsolving skills, able to diagnose problems and implement costeffective solutions.
- Demonstrate commitment to excellence in customer service.
- Valid license and proof of a clean driver's abstract.
- Own transportation to get between sites.
- Good communication skills
