About the Role

What You'll Do

Qualify and underwrite new and renewal Insurance accounts through understanding the needs and risk characteristics of the customer while ensuring both topline growth and bottomline profitability
Managing a portfolio of small to medium sized business in the Property & Casualty space primarily consisting of residential realty, commercial realty, contractors and hospitality.
Analyze risks to identify fair and sensible solutions that fit within the program guidelines
Submit claim documentation to our Third Party Administrator
Utilize, manage and maintain the Lloyds Lineage system for reporting and settlement of our Coverholder authority
Manage the underwriting workflow from quote to policy issuance
Assist in the renewal process for our Coverholder agreements

What You Bring

Typically, more than 15 years of professional underwriting experience within the insurance industry
Knowledge of Lloyd's underwriting practices is an asset
Proven success in providing a high level of customer service in a fastpaced and challenging environment
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to analyze and convey summaries of complex issues; recognize alternative approaches and develop action plans, both orally and in written form
Remarkable collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to develop and maintain longterm relationships with brokers, clients and internal partners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Outlook, Word, Excel
Excellent attention to detail and sensible judgement
Exceptional problemsolving, decision making and analytical skills
Effective time management and organizational skills
Professional designation such as CIP is an asset
Experience in Lineage would be an asset
