Qualifications:
- Formal education in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Risk Management considered an asset
- Formal safety designation such as NCSO considered an asset
- 510 years experience in Health & Safety with 35 years experience in the construction industry
- Possess a strong knowledge of the Ontario construction and industrial act and regulations
- Experience with the COR 2020 program
- Experience with the WSIB Health & Safety Excellence Program considered an asset
- JHSC Part 1 and working towards Part 2 Construction
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge of digital HSMS
- Standard First Aid and AED certification
- Strong organizational, coaching, communication and interpersonal skills
- Selfmotivated team player with a strong commitment to improving health and safety performance
- Comfortable multitasking, working under pressure, and managing tight timelines
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to sites and projects
- Valid drivers license required
Responsibilities:
- Enhance and promote a strong health and safety culture
- Assist in planning, organizing and implementing programs and procedures designed to promote compliance with local Government Regulation, Industry Standards, and Corporate Policies and Procedures.
- Assist with the development of construction safety plans
- Provide guidance and show leadership with all divisions, particularly when working with the JHSC
- Lead and participate in JHSC meetings
- Create and distribute health and safety information and other forms of communication on a regular basis
- Conduct regular site inspections and develop reports to summarize at risk items and verify corrective actions have been completed
- Perform audits and provide analysis on our current legislative programs and Project Safety Plans for the purpose of continuous improvement and compliance
- Provide support for incident investigations, including leading highrisk investigations
- Assist in analyzing trends in loss experience and loss causation and initiate processes to address performance issues related to maintaining safe and healthy worksites

- Guelph, Ontario
- Travel to job sites
Hours: 40 hours per week, as required by site
