Be the Spark Join our professional and passionate team of before and after care leaders in our 11 locations in Saskatoon.

You will supervise, plan and deliver a consistent child-centred programing.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan and implement age appropriate programming ensuring YMCA program standards and YMCA Core Values are met; Ensure compliance with all YMCA, Board standards.
  • Prepare quality weekly program planning and monthly calendars
  • Develop and sustain good working relationship with families program staff team; give leadership
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with a number of community and other stakeholders including: school Principals, Vice Principals, caretakers and secretaries, YMCA families; Volunteers and students
  • Complete general administration tasks as required including Children's sign in and out; ensure attendance is accurate and up to date
  • All incident and behaviour reports completed and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Provide quality compassionate care and support to children and their families
  • Build positive relationships with children and seek opportunities to deepen connections with parents and families keeping them up to date on their child's progress
  • Be a creative play partner who is actively engaged with the children and makes learning fun
  • Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; Understand and comply with YMCA policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You bring:

  • Minimum one year of experience in before and after school, child care or extended day programs
  • A capacity to work within a multiple level reporting structure; demonstrated professionalism in working with School Board teachers and staff in delivery of shared, quality programs to school families
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily yearround; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding assigned working hours
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
  • Applicants are required to be a minimum of 16 years of age or older as per Ministry guidelines
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • An asset would be holding a valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
