What You Will Be Doing:

Our Social Media Manager will be responsible for overseeing our client's social media accounts and community engagement, including, but not limited to the following:

  • Create and implement social media strategies on behalf of SMC's clients to appeal to local, regional and national audiences.
  • Drive innovation and forwardthinking ideas around community growth and engagement.
  • Maintain the unique voice of each of our client's brands on select social media platforms.
  • Manage and build relationships within the client's social media community, with select brand ambassadors and influencers, depending on the account.
  • Take a lead role in content direction and asset management for each client account.
  • Visit our clients on location — sometimes outside of regular office hours — to capture the latest content in the form of photography and Reels videos and stay current on their latest offerings.
  • Write, edit, and proofread communications content, which includes but is not limited to social media posts (such as: digital ads, websites and blogs).
  • Collaborate with all teams on various marketing projects, including executing brand activations and capturing content at client and agencyhosted events.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary education in communications, marketing or related field.
  • Minimum 23 years experience in a social media, marketing or related role.
  • Familiarity with the current grocery and restaurant landscape in Western Canada and beyond.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, collaborate with clients and internal crossfunctional teams to drive deliverables to outcomes.
  • Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills with an extreme attention to detail.
  • Extremely strong project management and time management skills along with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to independently prioritize job tasks in a sometimes demanding and challenging environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and other social media platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and Meta Insights, as well as project management and time tracking tools.
  • Food photography & demonstrated Reels video skills.
