About the Organization

Canadian Battery Innovation Center (CBIC) is a critical infrastructure for advanced battery research in Canada. CBIC will be a first-of-its-kind battery prototyping facility in Canada that will give researchers the ability to construct and demonstrate the feasibility of next generation battery technologies. This research facility will help the scale-up of innovations from Canada's world-class battery laboratories that will bring advanced battery solutions to our domestic industry and ultimately the Canadian consumer.


Job Summary

  • Reporting to two Co-Principal Investigators, the Implementation Manager will support the renovation, acquisition, installation and commissioning of the CIBC infrastructure, including liaising with Facilities Management, Procurement, Research Office, Financial Services at Dalhousie University, the equipment vendors and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly meet with two Co-Principal Investigators to report progress.
  • Coordinate with DAL Research Office, DAL Financial Services, funding agencies, and project leaders to manage and report the budget and project progress.
  • Coordinate with Facilities Management, contractors, and project leaders to oversee the facility renovation.
  • Coordinate with DAL Financial Services, equipment vendors and project leaders to support the tender process and acquisition of all the equipment.
  • Host the equipment vendors and contractors for equipment installation and commissioning.

Note

  • The successful applicant will primarily work remotely, with occasional presence inperson oncampus to meet client needs and operation requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in project management or team management.
  • Ability to foster a culture of diversity and inclusion, as well as aid in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for collaborators and users.

Assets

  • Master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field.
  • Background in Science or engineering.
