Job Summary:


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and distribute hearing agendas.
  • Ensure timely receipt and finalizing of reviewer comments.
  • Maintain a speakers list for hearings.
  • Prepare for and attend Committee of Adjustment hearings and draft decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Liaise with stakeholders such as members of Council, Committee members, staff in other departments, external agencies, applicants, the public and other interested parties to facilitate the circulation of information and coordinate the review process.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • University/College degree in planning, engineering technology, architectural technology or urban geography (or a related field).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a municipal or legal administration environment.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act would be an asset.
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal), conflict resolution, organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail with a strong ability to comprehend technical drawings and applicable legislation.
  • Professional designation with Ontario Association of Committees of Adjustment and Consent Authorities, Canadian Association of Certified Planning Technicians, or Canadian Institute of Planners/Ontario Professional Planners Institute is an additional asset but not required.

Hourly Rate/Salary:
$36.13 to $48.17 (based on salary Grade D $ 65, $ 87,671.00)

Hours of Work: 35 hours
