Khalsa School is an independent Sikh school in the beautiful Fraser Valley region

of British Columbia.

Currently, we have two openings for semester 2. We also are actively recruiting

are currently in a practicum and looking for a classroom of your own for Winter

2023 for the two advertised positions or Fall 2023 For January 2023, we have the

following positions available:

Position 1:
Foods, Careers & Art (Maternity leave coverage)

Start Date:
January 3rd, 2023 to June 30, 2023

Job Type:
Full-Time

(Our first semester ends on January 27th and all lesson plans for the first semester

will be available as there will be an opportunity for overlap with the current

teacher)

Subjects to be taught:

Careers 10
Quartered Grade 8 electives:

Entrepreneurship and Marketing 8 (Jan 30th

to April 14th )/Food Studies 8 (April 17th to June 16th )

Quartered Grade 8 electives:

Food Studies 8 (Jan 30th to April 14th )/Art

Education 8 (April 17th to June 16th )

Art Education 9

Position 2:
Math and Business Education

Salary:
Starting salary of $55,000/year for both positions

the Teacher Certification Branch for a CoQ certificate

**Teaching experience in Canada is recognized for a possible higher starting

salary for CoQ teachers

Qualification Requirements:

Valid Teaching Certification in BC (Teaching certificates in other Canadian

been completed for a BC Teaching Certificate)

You must be eligible to be employed in Canada. Special attention will be

given to applicants who are certified to or can be certified to teach in

British Columbia.

Preferrable:

Teaching experience within Canada

Ability to work full time
Demonstrated knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and

equipment of instructional specialty required

Ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school

objectives including the needs and abilities of students required

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers

and parents required

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written required

Khalsa School is a Sikh school and a part of the student's education at our schools

includes education in the Sikh Faith (Sikh music, history, scriptures). However,

applicants will only be required to teach the BC Curriculum in English.

Teaching experience at our fine institution is recognized by BC public school
