In this dynamic role, the Human Resource Generalist will be providing back-fill support for members of our Human Resources Team as we work through a large-scale HCM transition.

Our vision is that as we bring members of our team into the HCM project, the HR Generalist will be able to step into their role and ensure that HR operations and services to our employees and managers are not disrupted.

As an HR Generalist, the role spans the breadth of HR services from employee relations, compensation and benefits, recruitment and employee programs and requires expertise and knowledge in the delivery of key human resource functions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work closely with our people in a variety of different business areas to provide personalized service, support and partnership to multiple business areas and Industries.
  • Interpret and clearly communicate AMA Human Resource policies, procedures and guidelines and applicable legislation.
  • Provide solid recommendations and effective solutions to achieve business needs, talent management, employee development to enhance overall employee engagement and experience.
  • Conduct sensitive investigations and present findings, including recommended course of action.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, the Canada Labour Code and other relevant legislation.
  • Provide consultation to Business Unit leaders with development and refinement of Job Profile's based on AMA standard requirements.
  • Conduct market research, support development of new process documents, update and verify written communication, assist in the development and refinement of our service level agreements for various HR functions.
  • Support the job evaluation and compensation review process by gathering required information from Business Units and compiling it for Total Compensation Advisor.
  • May be required to participate in interviews with the Business Unit leaders.
  • Provide information on employee programs, participate and contribute (where required) in execution of programs and HR initiatives.
  • Conduct research, prepare reports, presentations and/or documentation as required for HR Operations.

WHAT YOU'VE DONE

  • You have a postsecondary education in Human Resources, or a related field; equivalent experience would be considered.
  • You have a minimum of 2 years experience in a generalist role is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Employment Standards Legislation is required.
  • Experience administering benefits, developing job profiles, and performing job evaluation is required.
  • You have a proven ability to handle multiple concurrent initiatives and to prioritize in a fast paced, deadlineoriented, and rapidly changing business environment.
  • You've got an exemplary work ethic, with the ability to prioritize, multitask and produce high quality results.
  • You have your CPHR designation; working towards it and participating in the local HR community would be great too
  • You come to us with excellent communication skills with an ability to form strong relationships at all organizational levels.
  • You have a proven track record working with multifaceted and dynamic organizations.
  • You have a positive and proactive approach towards solving problems.
  • You can work with a diversity of people in a calm, courteous, and effective manner.
