Description
A Hub Summer Camp Counselor is someone responsible for the well-being and safety of young children at camp.

Their duties include coordinating engaging activities for the campers and supervising campers to make sure they are safe and happy.

Staff members play a key role in creating positive impressions about Hub.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Reporting to Camp Lead
  • Supervising youth (614 yrs old)
  • Cleaning and tidying
  • Ensuring groups of assigned campers are supervised and safe
  • Preparing and leading a variety of activities that are ageappropriate
  • Modeling good behavior for campers as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, and respectfulness
  • Identifying teachable moments and capitalizing on them
  • Performing all responsibilities in a manner that guarantees the safety of campers
  • Facilitating and encouraging participation in camp activities
  • Knowing and enforcing the facility's policies and procedures
  • Must be able to work part time or full time in July and August

Qualifications:


  • High energy and enthusiasm
  • Ability to be a team player, show initiative and follow instructions
  • Must enjoy working with kids
  • Must be able to pass/provide Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Certification in CPR and AED (First aid skills and training) an asset
  • General mobility including, but not limited, to walking, kneeling, and standing
  • Proven ability to maintain a safe environment for others in adherence with provided protocol and standards
  • Ability to lead activities for large groups of children
Full time or part time work
15- 40 hrs/week

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 3 months

Part-time hours: 20-40 per week


Salary:
$16.00-$18.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
