- 40 multislide proprietary zinc die casting machines ranging from 12 to 21 tons
- Five multislide proprietary zinc die casting machines ranging from 70 to 200 tons
- Injected Metal Assembly (IMA) up to one ton
- Precision tool building with inhouse capabilities
- Design, prototyping, and modeling services
- Wide range of finishing surfaces available including tumbling, polishing, shot blasting and thermal deburring
- Cosmetic or protective coating equipment either through certified suppliers or inhouse
- Wide range of secondary operations including CNC machining, tapping, reaming, and drilling
About the Role:_
This role provides timely and accurate costing functions relating to production and consumption (inventory) in manufacturing processes, inputs journal entries, prepares and/or generates period-end reports/summaries, makes recommendation for system improvements and other manufacturing-related production statistical and inventory reports within Dynacast in order to achieve relevant, accurate, timely and consistent information for management decision making.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:_
- Managing the costing function within the plant within identified timelines, relating to inventories and production to enable Dynacast to manage and monitor production to provide timely and accurate financial Costing;
- Researching and explaining discrepancies or variances in monthtomonth general ledger/inventory balances to standards and report as requested;
- Reviewing and managing quoting model to ensure accuracy to actuals;
- Completing all computerized monthend cost accounting transactions and closing off all computer generated cumulative and discrete work within predetermined monthend closing deadlines;
- Reconciling inventory balances in the General Ledger with those in MRP system to identify any discrepancies, and preparing and inputting the necessary approved adjusting entries;
- Setting up accrual entries for vender service invoices;
- Entering journal entries and assisting in the reconciliation/analysis of specific accounts;
- Making recommendations for and assisting in the development of improvements to the accounting and production software to ensure integrity of output;
- Reviewing current manual systems and making recommendations for their automation by working with the IT department on a project basis;
- Investigating and verifying the integrity of the production system data by reviewing and updating the Bill of Material, Routings, Product lines and Department Costs;
- Maintaining the fixed asset system;
- Preparing monthly depreciation journal entry and capital expenditures report;
- Reconciling fixed asset and depreciation accounts in general ledger, investigating discrepancies and preparing adjusting entries;
- Performing administrative and accounting activities as requested to support efficient departmental functioning;
- Assisting in preparing annual yearend closing analysis, summaries and reports;
- Assisting in taking a physical inventory count, annually; and
- Assisting in preparation of Annual Budget and threeyear Business Plan.
Education & Experience Required:
- Must possess a professional accounting designation or be working towards a designation;
- Three (3) year Business Administration Accounting Diploma;
- Minimum 5 to 8 years' progressive Accounting experience, preferably within an ISO certified manufacturing environment with emphasis on cost accounting.
Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Advanced level proficiency in MS Office;
- Intermediate level proficiency in manufacturing/accounting software. Specific proficiency in ERP System;
- Advanced level proofreading, and keyboarding/data entry skills, with an emphasis on accuracy;
- Interested in growing within the company with potential to take on a leadership role in the future is considered an asset.
